  • Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh stated that there is no firm date yet for the increase of the maximum number of persons able to gather in public.
  • The Minister indicated that every resident of Trinidad and Tobago, legal or not can access testing for Covid-19.
  • The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Roshan Parasram, said that the 290 nationals from the Enchantment of the Seas Cruise Ship, who tested negative, were discharged into home quarantine for 7 days. Dr. Parasram also stated that these persons will be monitored from both the County Medical Officers of Health and the TTPS to ensure that they adhere to the Quarantine Regulations.
  • Dr. Parasram indicated that the 45 students at the UWI Freedom Hall have received their negative tests and are set to be released today.
  • The CMO said that the Ministry of Health has been collaborating with International Organizations to monitor migrant communities in T&T to ensure that any Covid-19 cases would be identified and treated.
  • Director of Women’s Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Adesh Sirjusingh, advised nursing/pregnant women that breastfeeding is safe for the baby even if the mother has Covid-19.
  • Dr. Sirjusingh also pointed out that only 3 out of 5 women go in for health checks in the first half of their pregnancy and advised all pregnant women to see a doctor as early as possible.
