Port-of-Spain, September 18, 2020: As part of the national drive to safeguard the health of the Trinidad and Tobago population in the face of the global COVID-19 outbreak, the Ministry of Health continues to provide up-to-date information on the country’s status in this regard. The Ministry of Health provides the following clinical update as of the morning of Friday September 18, 2020:

| Number of repeated tests | 3,063 |
| Number of samples which have tested positive at public and private facilities in Trinidad and Tobago | 3,512 |
| Total number of active cases | 1,866 |
| Number of deaths | 60 |
| Number of persons discharged from public health facilities | 822 |
| Number of recovered community cases | 764 |
The Ministry of Health provides the following update:
· Seventy-eight (78) additional persons have tested positive for COVID -19.
The seventy-eight (78) positive cases reported shows results from samples taken during the period September 4th to September 17th, 2020. Therefore, this figure is NOT representative of the positive cases over the last 24 hours only.
· Eight (8) persons have been discharged from public health facilities
· There have been seven hundred and sixty-four (764) recovered community cases.
Recovered community cases refer to persons who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.
The seventy-eight (78) new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.

Intensive Care Units (ICUs) are hospital wards that provide treatment for people who are very ill. They are staffed with health care professionals who are trained in ICU treatment and the use of sophisticated monitoring equipment.
High Dependency Units (HDUs) are wards for people who need more observation, treatment and nursing care than is possible in a general ward but slightly less than that given in an Intensive Care Unit.
An Ambulatory Patient is able to walk about and is not bedridden.
